There are a lots of things that car people love to shit on. Whats one you actually like though? I would have to say underglow. When done tastefully I think it looks pretty damn awesome.

Not these for sure. To me, these are in the lowest section of the automotive cesspit.

I always thought a classic 60's land yacht done up with white paint and purple underglow would be super-classy.

Me: Automatic transmissions. We're at the point where they can shift faster and be more fuel efficient than any human rowing gears. Yet everyone here seems to hate them.

They are quite long. Where is the poor thing supposed to put them? :D

Plus, I need her to fish out stuff I drop in the engine bay.

I'm sorry to call out your post, but it's the one I just happened to read at this particular moment. No one has ever liked manual transmissions because they were faster and more economic. We like them because they are more engaging and thus more fun.

I'll meet you half way on that - back in the day, manuals were more efficient - no bones about it. They also allowed you to properly time a launch and offered better performance. Not so much any more.

Are paddle shifters not as engaging either?

Paddle shifters are right in between. Much faster than a manual and more engaging than a full auto, but still not as fun in a sporty dd as a manual. Racecars are different.

Front wheel drive.

I'm going to be hated for this, but I do not see the purpose of rear wheel drive. All it does is increase the chance of you going tail-first off a cliff. I also don't get why people say FWD is the worst. I think it's better than RWD because you can control the turn-in response to a much grater extent by modulating the amount of power you're sending to the front wheels, and the amount of turn-in you give it. Also, for drifting purposes, a 4WD/AWD can be drifted almost as well as an RWD car, so what's the purpose of it.

Don't get me wrong, RWD cars are fun, but I enjoy driving a car that is pulling itself by it's front wheels.
